The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) operates 18 radio stations across all official languages, including the hugely popular Ukhozi FM (Zulu) and Metro FM (urban contemporary). Commercial radio includes giants like 947, Jacaranda FM, and KFM. Community radio is a cornerstone of post-apartheid media, with over 280 licensed community stations serving townships, rural areas, and cultural groups.
