Chile's radio industry is one of the most developed in Latin America, with a rich tradition of journalism, music broadcasting, and cultural programming stretching from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia.

Chile has over 2,000 radio stations serving its long, narrow geography. Major networks include Bío-Bío (renowned for news and journalism), Cooperativa, ADN Radio, and Agricultura. Music stations play everything from reggaetón and Latin pop to rock en español, cumbia, and the national folk genre cueca. Radio Bío-Bío is particularly respected for its investigative journalism and played a vital role during the transition to democracy. University radio stations — from Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica — contribute to cultural and educational programming. Community radio serves indigenous Mapuche communities in the south, broadcasting in Mapudungun. Chile's mining communities in the north rely heavily on radio for connectivity in remote areas.
